Trauma Therapy

Healing from What You’ve Carried

Sometimes the hardest part about trauma is how quiet it can become. You might look like you’re managing just fine on the outside, but inside you feel disconnected, on alert, or weighed down by something you can’t quite name. Whether you’ve been through one major event, a series of painful experiences, or grew up in an environment that never felt safe, it makes sense that your body and mind are still holding on.

When difficult things happen—especially in childhood—it’s like someone handing you their baggage and telling you to carry it. You learn to adapt, to survive, to make yourself small or strong or invisible. But over time, the weight of what isn’t yours to carry can start to feel unbearable.

Therapy offers a space to start setting some of it down.

Together, we’ll gently explore how those past experiences are showing up in your life today—whether through anxiety, self-doubt, emotional numbness, or struggles in relationships. You don’t have to face it all at once or alone. In our sessions, we’ll work to build safety first—both in your body and in our relationship—so that healing can happen at your own pace.

You’ll learn ways to ground yourself in the present moment, understand your emotional responses, and reconnect with the parts of you that had to go into hiding. Over time, the goal isn’t to erase what’s happened, but to help you live a life defined by your choices, not your past.

Common signs that trauma may still be affecting you:

  • Difficulty sleeping or frequent nightmares

  • Flashbacks or intrusive memories

  • Trouble connecting with others or trusting relationships

  • Emotions that feel too big—or too far away

You don’t have to keep carrying this alone.
Trauma therapy can help you feel safer in your body, more connected to yourself, and more confident in your relationships. Healing is possible, and it starts with taking the first step.
